What we keep, why, and how to have it removed. There are two kinds of people here: those who use ScoutKite, and those whose published address ScoutKite found.
1. If you use ScoutKite
- Your account: your name, email and photo from Google sign-in (or your email, if you sign in with an email link).
- Your mailbox settings: server, address and password. Passwords are encrypted before they are stored and are only used to send your approved emails and read replies to them.
- Your campaigns: your business details, the people found, the drafts, and what happened to each email (sent, opened if you turned that on, clicked, replied, unsubscribed).
- Payments: handled by Lemon Squeezy. We see your plan and its status, never your card.
- Visits: pages you open on scoutkite.com, where you came from and your country, kept with a ScoutKite cookie (
sk_vid). No ad trackers, nothing sold. - Emails from us: a few tips and check-ins about your account. Every one has a link to stop them.
2. If ScoutKite found your address
ScoutKite only uses email addresses that people published themselves, on their own website.
- What we keep: your published email address, your name, title and company if they are on the same site, the page we found them on, and short notes about your business from your public pages.
- Why: so a business that could be useful to you can write you one relevant email, about your work, from their own inbox. In privacy-law terms, this is legitimate interest in business-to-business contact.
- Who sees it: the ScoutKite customer whose search found you. Other customers looking for the same kind of business may be shown it too.
- Say no in one click: every email sent through ScoutKite has an unsubscribe link. On that page you can stop that sender, or choose never contact me through ScoutKite, which stops every ScoutKite customer.
- Removal and copies: write to [email protected] and we will delete what we have about you, or send you a copy, within 30 days.
3. Who helps us run ScoutKite
- Our server host, where the database lives, and Cloudflare, which sits in front of the site.
- Google: sign-in (Firebase) and the AI (Gemini) that reads public web pages and drafts emails.
- Lemon Squeezy: payments, tax and receipts.
- Telegram: short alerts to us when someone signs up or pays, with their email address.
- Your own email provider: your emails go through your mailbox, not ours.
We don't sell personal data or share it for advertising.
4. How long we keep things
Account data stays while you have an account and is deleted when you ask us to close it. Addresses found on websites stay until the person asks us to remove them, or we stop needing them. Backups are kept for 14 days.
5. Security
The site runs over HTTPS, mailbox passwords are encrypted, and only the people who run ScoutKite can reach the server. If something goes wrong that affects your data, we will tell you.
6. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us what we have about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop using it. Write to [email protected]. If you are in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your data-protection authority.
